 Dry Needling

What is Dry Needling?

Dry needling is a technique that our physical therapists can use to treat musculoskeletal pain, as well as some issues with range of motion.

During this treatment, we use incredibly thin needles to penetrate gently through your skin and into myofascial trigger points.

These trigger points are often tender, or knotted-up areas that can develop in your muscle tissue.

By using dry needling, these areas of tension can be pinpoint targeted, relieving tension and increasing blood flow and relieving pain.

Dr. Brūs Layson's Study of Dry Needling

Our very own Brūs Layson was a co-author of one of the most comprehensive studies of dry needling and thrust manipulation for lateral elbow pain. Click here to learn more about the the effects of adding electrical dry needling and thrust manipulation into a multimodal program of exercise, mobilization, and ultrasound in patients with lateral elbow tendinopathy.
